Thanks to Elewa-Africa’s work, the communities of Lengatei, Orkoilili, Endapidapoi and Ilkandururo now have access to safe drinking water close to their homes . These initiatives have not only transformed the daily lives of the inhabitants, but have also had a major impact on their health, significantly reducing the incidence of diseases linked to the consumption of contaminated water.

 

In response to a request from the Ilkandururo community, we are now considering building a school to improve access to education for children. The current school, located far from the village, accommodates more than 500 children, but has only 5 teachers, which seriously limits the quality of education. All of Elewa-Africa's projects are born from the needs expressed by local communities. This is why, based on our experience in water-related projects, we have chosen to continue working in the same region, while expanding our scope of action.

 

At this stage, we assess the specific needs of the population, the costs, feasibility and sustainability of the project, while seeking the necessary funds to build the school. The community, in collaboration with local authorities, has already identified land for the school and expressed the wish for it to be private, which demonstrates their commitment to this project.

 

Our president's next trip will be entirely devoted to collecting detailed information, which will serve as a basis for developing the project. If the funds are raised, we hope to be able to start construction of the school in 2025.
